Su Nugoresu Restaurant has been serving Nuoro since 2004. The idea came to the owners as its location within Piazza San Giovanni, one of the oldest in the city, was a perfect starting point for the tour of the historic center and the important attractions nearby, such as the “House of Grazia Deledda”, Nobel Prize for Literature, the prestigious “MAN” Museum, with its enviable reputation at an international level and the Cathedral of “Santa Maria della Neve”, whose first stone was laid on 12th November 1836, which is a fine neoclassical example by the friar architect Antonio Cano from Sassari. Two minutes away is the square-monument, dedicated to Sebastiano Satta (Nuoro 21st May 1867 - Nuoro 29th November 1914) lawyer, poet and writer very dear to the “Nuoresi”, as they are named, for the realization of which was commissioned the Oranese sculptor Costantino Nivola, an eclectic sculptor / painter whose works are actually exhibited in the most important museums of the world. The possibility of being inside the square together with the passion for cooking convinced the owners to face this difficult challenge that, since the first day to today, has seen them committed to managing and cooking for their customers. The menu offered is adapted to the seasons but retains at the same time the identity of Sardinian cuisine. The classical traditional dishes, among which the homemade pasta stands out, are accompanied by meat and fish dishes proposals. With over 10 years of activity, to meet an increasingly demanding clientele, the menu has been updated several times. Today there are dishes for celiacs as well as for vegetarians and vegans. In Sardinia some excellent meat is bred and the restaurant offers a wide selection which, together with those ones coming from prestigious national and international areas, widens the range for the delight of the fans of the genre. The loaves are stored in a special refrigerator for a controlled process of maturation and hung that is perfectly safe from an hygienic and organoleptic point of view, as required by the standards. Eating this meat, with its incredible taste and softness, turns out to be an experience that creates a physical addiction . A flagship is the traditionally home made pizza with a long leavening and a subsequent baking in a wooden oven. In the pizza menu the supplier companies are listed. The wine cellar, located in a suitable room adjacent to the restaurant, boasts a wide selection of the best Sardinian wines which in recent years have risen to the top of the international trade fairs of the sector and their appreciation is in continuous ascent. Important national and international wineries complete the paper. Professionalism, courtesy and kindness are our cornerstones of hospitality. Reservations are recommended.
